I have an electric fireplace in my basement and I love it. When you just want to sit by the fire snuggle and read a good book they are great. They’re also very low cost, I run mine instead of my furnace on chilly days. It’s as good if not better than having a real fireplace, no bundling up to go outside and chop wood just walk over flip a switch and here comes the heat

It is starting to get really cold outside and so it is time for me to dust off my old treadmill so that I can keep getting my exercise. I hate walking when it is cold outside and it rains here at least every other day now. I like being able to work out in the comfort of my own home at the temperature that I pick!

I am going to make sure that next winter I have a nice electric blanket because my heating costs were through the roof. I figure if I have a real nice electric blanket keeping me warm I can turn down the thermostat a bit to save a few dollars. I want one that is really soft and has a really long cord so I can take it across the room.

Tuesday Government officials have said that low income family’s will need help to pay their heating bills this season. The expected rise in propane prices is 30 percent from previous years. Based on an average family that is $384 a year more. Electrical heating is expected to go up 7 percent or $58. Natural gas being the cheapest at 5 percent or $50.
