My girlfriend’s daughter turned 18 last week and she is already talking about moving out of her parent’s house. When we asked her where she was deciding to move to she excitedly told us San Diego. Both her mother and my jaw dropped! That is literally all the way across the country! While I can see her enthusiasm over being an adult now, she does not understand that San Diego homes are VERY expensive! The cost of living in California is atrocious, and at eighteen years old unless you are in the performing arts or have a career already set for yourself, it is nearly impossible to live on your own there. She is determined to give it a try, but her mother and I are expecting that to last at the very most a month or two.

I love looking for new places to live. Even though I know I cannot get out of here for at least another couple more years, I fantasize about where I am going to live and I even go as far as looking for a place to live there. I am always looking for a new place to look at homes, because I eventually want to move away from here, it is just going to be hard to get rid of the house I have now to be able to move.

I think it would be so cool to be able to afford one of those luxury homes that I see about 30 minutes from the house that I have now. With mortgages being so weird though, I am wary of getting any type of loan from the bank because I may not be able to afford it in a couple of years like some people I know. It is sad that you cannot trust these companies anymore.
