I have often wondered if I went traveling somewhere outside of the United States if I would be covered by my insurance, so I called just to check. Apparently it is not covered, but you can get travel health insurance to cover you in case you get sick or if anything happens while you are out there traveling. I think it is a good idea, because nothing would be much worse than having to deal with something like that and not being covered!
